NLRB worker rights resources available in more than a dozen languages

Washington — A series of new resources on worker rights and employer and union responsibilities under the National Labor Relations Act of 1935 are now available in 17 languages.

The National Labor Relations Board’s website offers Know Your Rights documents, information on immigrant worker rights and instructions on how to e-file charges/petitions in Arabic, Chinese (traditional and simplified), English, French, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Hmong, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Tagalog, Urdu and Vietnamese.

The board has provided multilingual assistance in English and Spanish via its unfair labor practices hotline – (844) 762-6572 – and will now provide interpretation in other languages upon request.

“Knowledge is power,” NLRB General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo said in a press release. “It’s been one of my priorities to educate workers about their rights. Workers need to know that the agency will protect them when they exercise their rights, no matter what language they speak.”

NLRB previously created a Spanish-language website, on which the agency launched an e-filing service for users to file unfair labor practice charges.
