The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has transitioned to new leadership for 2025-2026. Maj. Erick McGuire with the Florida Highway Patrol is the new president of the Alliance. Sgt. William “Bill” Alarcon with New Jersey State Police is CVSA’s vice president. And Capt. John Hahn with Colorado State Patrol has moved into the past president role.
On Sept. 24, at the CVSA Annual Conference and Exhibition in Denver, Colorado, CVSA Class I Members and Class II Local Members elected Tpr. Robert “Beau” Wittkowski with the Iowa State Patrol to the position of CVSA secretary. He will serve one year as secretary of the Alliance, while serving as chair of the CVSA Election Committee. Then, he’ll serve one year as vice president of the Alliance and chair of the CVSA Finance Committee. The year after that, Tpr. Wittkowski will become CVSA’s president. After one year as president, he will then serve three years as past president – making the entire obligation a six-year commitment.
In addition, the following regional leadership is now in place:
- Lt. Abraham Rosario with the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles is Region I president.
- Capt. Virgil Verduzco with the Texas Department of Public Safety is Region II president.
- Lt. Christopher Keller with the Michigan State Police is Region III president.
- Richard Robinson with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation is Region V president.
Region members voted the following individuals into the role of region vice president:
- Sgt. Chris Rogers with the Maine State Police is Region I vice president.
- Lt. Stephen Burnham with the Georgia Department of Public Safety is Region II vice president.
- Capt. Chris Barr with the Indiana State Police is vice president for Region III.
- Richard Roberts with the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Transit is Region V vice president.
The following committee and program changes are now in effect:
- Sgt. Zachary Hamilton with the Michigan State Police is chair of the new Inspector Memorial Program.
- Jessica Davis with the Utah Department of Transportation is chair of the Audits and Investigations Committee.
- Keith Kerns with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio is chair of the Training Committee.
- Ofc. Christopher Vinson with Midlothian (Texas) Police Department will chair the Vehicle Committee.
CVSA would like to thank the following members of leadership who devoted their time to serving the membership and whose terms expired this year, who retired or who stepped down from their leadership positions:
- F/Sgt. Travis Ingold with North Carolina State Highway Patrol was Region II president.
- Krista Cull from Newfoundland and Labrador was Region V president.
- Former Local Member Tom Mrozinski with Frisco (Texas) Police Department was chair of the Operation Airbrake Program.
