Dallas — OSHA Region 6 has renewed two of its emphasis programs and revised another.

The two renewed REPs focus on poultry processing facilities and fabricated metal manufacturers. The revised REP, for the health care industry, updates the “targeted” North American Industry Classification System codes for:

  • Freestanding Ambulatory Surgical and Emergency Centers (NAICS 621493)
  • All Other Outpatient Care Centers (NAICS 621498)
  • All Other Miscellaneous Ambulatory Health Care Services (NAICS 621999)
  • General Medical and Surgical Hospitals (NAICS 622110)

“The Bureau of Labor Statistics injury data for these industries is higher than the national average for private industry,” an OSHA notice states.

The three REPs, which went into effect July 1, are for all relevant worksites in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas, as well as worksites in New Mexico that are under federal OSHA jurisdiction.
