Struck-by incidents are a leading cause of death among construction workers, and since

1992 the leading cause of nonfatal injuries in the construction industry. Through an effort

coordinated by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) National

Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Construction Sector Council, CPWR – The Center

for Construction Research and Training is hosting the first National Stand-Down to

Prevent Struck-by Incidents during National Work Zone Awareness Week
