FMCSA Hosts Series of Press Conferences to Highlight Millions in Grant Funding for Roadway Safety

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) hosted a series of four press conferences from Oct. 11 – Nov. 1, 2024, aimed at highlighting how more than $140 million in FMCSA grant funding will be used nationwide to enhance roadway safety. The funding was awarded to states and educational institutions through the agency’s High PriorityCommercial Driver’s License Program Implementation, and Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training grant programs. Funding will help advance states’ technological capabilities, improve the national commercial driver’s license (CDL) program, and support CDL training programs. At each press conference, FMCSA was joined by grant recipients, state partners, elected/community leaders, other beneficiaries, and the media. The press conferences were livestreamed and recordings from each event can be found below.
