WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration today announced a meeting of the Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health on Oct. 19, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. EDT.
FACOSH advises the Secretary of Labor on all matters relating to the occupational safety and health of federal employees. These matters include providing advice on how to reduce the number of injuries and illnesses in the federal workforce and how to encourage federal executive branch departments and agencies to establish and maintain effective occupational safety and health programs.
The tentative agenda will include:
- OSHA’s regulatory updates.
- Presentation on new construction safety helmets.
- FACOSH subcommittee update on implementing effective occupational safety and health management systems.
- Better use and sharing of federal agency reports and the annual report to the President.
Public and member attendance at the meeting is online only. Members of the public may attend the FACOSH meeting by joining online, and attendees will be in listen-only mode. The deadline for submission of comments and requests to speak was Sept. 29, 2023.
