MSHA Remembers

Each year on April 28, we honor our nation’s fallen workers on Workers Memorial Day. The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) joins the nation in remembering miners and other workers who lost their lives or were injured on the job.  The day also serves as a solemn reminder that improving workplace safety is vital to prevent future tragedies and protect our workforce.

MSHA is proud to collaborate with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to co-host a series of commemorative events from April 20-24, 2026. These activities are designed not only to pay tribute to fallen workers but also support continuous improvement in safety education and training to protect miners and other workers while on the job.

As part of the week’s activities, we invite you to join us Thursday, April 23, 2026, as we honor, remember and recognize our fallen and injured workers at our Workers Memorial Ceremony in Washington D.C.
