U.S. Department of Transportation Announces Over $56 Million For Grant Opportunities to Support Hazardous Materials and Pipeline Safety Activities Nationwide

WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) today announced the availability of $56,260,331 in grant funding through its pipeline and hazardous materials safety programs. These funding opportunities will help strengthen safety programs across the country by improving community and environmental projects, training first responders, and educating the public on local safety initiatives.

“Protecting people and ensuring the safety and reliability of America’s pipeline and hazardous materials transportation networks is core to PHMSA’s mission,” said PHMSA Acting Administrator Ben Kochman“These grant opportunities reflect this administration’s effort to return PHMSA’s focus to safety first by removing unnecessary DEI and climate requirements from the equation, allowing States and local communities to address the individual and unique challenges they face daily.”
