Washington — The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration is set to host three prep sessions in advance of forthcoming international meetings.
“For each of these meetings, PHMSA will solicit public input on current proposals,” the agency says in a notice published April 22.
The first meeting is to prepare for the 68th session of the United Nations Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (UNSCOE TDG), set for June 29-July 8 in Geneva.
PHMSA’s virtual prep meeting is set for 9 a.m. Eastern on May 28. It’ll take place via Google Meet.
The second PHMSA meeting is in advance of the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Dangerous Goods Panel Working Group, scheduled for October in Montreal. The prep meeting is expected to take place in late August or early September. An official announcement will be made on the PHMSA website.
The ICAO DGP is expected to consider proposals for the 2029-2030 edition of the “Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.”
The third prep meeting is in advance of the 69th session of the UNSCOE TDG, set for Nov. 23-Dec. 1 in Geneva.
UNSCOE TDG is expected to work on the 25th revised edition of the “United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods: Model Regulations.”
That meeting is likely to take place in October.
