Washington — OSHA administrator David Keeling is set to provide insight during the 13th annual National Forklift Safety Day, scheduled for June 9.

The free event, organized by the Industrial Truck Association, highlights the safe use of forklifts, the importance of operator training and the need for daily equipment inspections. It will take place at the National Press Club in Washington. Participation is open to ITA members, anyone who works in the material handling industry or government, and forklift end users.

Keeling and a panel of other safety experts will address attendees at 9 a.m. Eastern:

“National Forklift Safety Day reminds us to focus on the fundamentals: comprehensive operator education and proactive daily equipment checks,” an ITA press release states. “Safety cannot be a secondary priority. It must be incorporated directly into the culture of every warehouse, manufacturing floor and distribution center across the country.”

Registration is available online. Virtual and in-person options are offered.
