Washington — OSHA has announced the winners of its inaugural Beat the Heat photo contest, a national competition aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of heat exposure.
OSHA challenged stakeholders to capture an image of how to work safely in the heat.
The 18 winning organizations are listed on the contest webpage, where their photo submissions are on display. Participants from all industries could submit up to five original photos. Those could include images showing:
- Controls being used to protect workers
- Workers using shade structures
- Heat safety training and engagement
- Innovative ways to cool workers
- Employers providing cold water access outdoors
“OSHA hopes that the imagery will inspire other workplaces who are looking for ideas on controls that can be implemented in the workplace,” the agency said.
The winners will receive a “Beat the Heat” challenge coin.
